How do I return my PCR test sample?

How do I return my PCR test sample?

You can either return your sample in-person, use a courier of your choice or use the included Royal Mail Tracked 24 envelope. If hand-delivering to the lab, the addresses can be found here.

If you are returning samples using the included Royal Mail envelope, you must use one of their designated "priority" postboxes. You can use the Royal Mail service finder to check the location of your nearest priority postbox and the last collection times.

Please note there are no Royal Mail collections or deliveries on Sundays or Bank Holidays.

Royal Mail Tracked 24 is not a guaranteed delivery service and we cannot take responsibility for samples that are delayed in delivery by Royal Mail (or other services). If testing for outbound travel or Test to Release, we strongly recommend you to drop your sample off in person to The Doctor's Laboratory London or Manchester labs if you are able to. We do not recommend using Royal Mail if your pre-travel test window is 48 hours or less due to the possibility of Royal Mail delivery delays.

If you post on a Saturday morning before last collection - your sample should arrive in the lab on Monday morning

If you post your sample after last collection on Saturday or on a Sunday - your sample will not be collected until Monday and will not arrive in the lab until Tuesday.

On Bank Holidays samples posted after last collection on Saturday will not be collected until Tuesday and will arrive in the lab on Wednesday.
